    Last week, some readers came across an error message that said the nvidia kernel module could not be initialized. There are a number of factors that can cause this problem. We’ll cover them below.

    I just upgraded to Arch and got your own reinstall. I am having trouble getting the nvidia drivers to work. I am currently using New Vehicle Operators with no problem.

    The method I use is after a long try, or:
    – remove new and lib
    – mesa configured the nvidia package
    – remove the new module entry in mkinitcpio. conf
    – `mkinitcpio run -p linux`
    – Modify .conf in xorg.conf.d with badly needed parameters. Currently:

  • Entry (rev only, which I found next to `dmesg | grep nvidia` with a link to nvidia-drm and seemed to say the product loaded successfully. I didn’t exactly restore the entry and maybe reinstalled a new one now, so I’ll post this.
    Any help is very grateful. I’ve been with me all the time. I’ve learned a lot!
